Posted by: BillGardner | January 10, 2008

Aspire Media will launch Knitting Daily TV on public television stations beginning in July. The magazine format series is a makeover of Needle Arts Studio with Shay Pendray, the first and longest running program on public television to focus on needle arts, and which Aspire Media acquired last year from host and executive producer Shay Pendray.

Knitting Daily TV will be hosted by magazine editors: Eunny Jang, editor of Interweave Knits; Kim Werker, editor of Interweave Crochet; Liz Gipson, managing editor of Handwoven and former managing editor of Spin-Off; along with Shay Pendray. The 30-minute themed episodes will cover a varietyof needle crafts, from knitting and crochet to stitching, felting, and spinning, and will guide viewers in learning to make designs using the latest yarn and fiber products. Guests will include industry experts and renowned designers.

The show will be supported by KnittingDailyTV.com, a Web site that will feature video clips, episode recaps, patterns, interactive discussion, local TV schedules, and more. In addition, Knitting Daily TV will have a presence on MySpace and Facebook, and episode previews will be available on YouTube.

The TV show will also invite the online community to be a part of the program by incorporating segments such as You Asked It, with hosts answering everyday needle arts questions and You Made It, featuring handmade creations.

The show is produced by KS Inc. Productions and will be offered in the same public television time slot as Needle Arts Studio. Show underwriters are Louet North America, Fiesta, Ironstone, YarnMarket.com, Tahki-Stacy Charles, WEBS – America’s Yarn Store, and The National NeedleArts Association.
