CHA Seeks Nominations

The Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) Nominating Committee is accepting candidate nominations for the 2009 board of directors. CHA members may submit the name of an association member as a candidate to sit on CHA’s governing body for a three-year term beginning January 2009. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the “Members Only” section of www.craftandhobby.org, or can be requested by contacting the CHA Member Services Department at 201/835-1206 or memberservices@craftandhobby.org. All nominations received by the June 1, 2008, deadline will be reviewed by the committee, and nominated individuals will receive a Board Nominee Profile Form to be completed and returned by June 15. Nominees should plan for an in-person interview with the committee on July 17, one day before the opening of the 2008 CHA Summer show in Rosemont, Illinois. The CHA board of directors consists of individuals representing the various sections of the CHA membership. In August, the committee will meet to review nominations and to submit a slate of candidates to the membership. The list of names is sent to members in advance of the annual business meeting for voting, as outlined in the association’s bylaws. Alternate nominations may be made by petition. If no additional nominations are offered, members will confirm the slate at the annual business meeting, which will take place in Anaheim, California, at the CHA Winter show, January 25-28, 2009.
