* Quilt Festival. The International Quilt Festival held in Houston earlier this month drew a record attendance of 54,247.

* TV. Quilting Arts, Series 100, featuring host Patricia “Pokey” Bolton, uplinks Sunday, December 30, 2007, from 1230-1300/513, via NETA. * Wrights/Simplicity. Jerry Cohn, president and ceo of Wm. Wright Co., has been appointed president and ceo of Simplicity Pattern Co. He will also retain his position with Wrights. Executive offices of Wrights an dsimplicity are being combined to take advantage of sales, marketing, and product synergies, as well as operating benefits. Frank Rizzo, Simplicity’s president and ceo is leaving the company, as is Lou Oltman, Simplicity’s senior vice president of sales and marketing.
