Jo-Ann Announces Second-Quarter Sales

Jo-Ann Stores reported today that net sales for the second quarter ended August 2, increased 3.7 percent to $403 million from $388.5 million last year. Same-store sales for the same period increased 3.3 percent, compared to an increase of 7 percent last year.
Net sales for the six-month period ended August 2, were $849.1 million compared to $812.7 million last year. Year-to-date same-store sales increased 3.9 percent versus an increase of 4.2 percent last year.
Jo-Ann now operates locations in 47 states, with 201 large-format stores and 567 small-format stores.
The company will report earnings for the second quarter on August 27.
