Quilters’ Resource Acquires Brewer
By BillGardner | December 19, 2007
Quilters’ Resource, a subsidiary of Bernina of America, is acquiring Brewer Sewing Supplies effective January 2, 2008. Both will continue to operate as individual companies until the procedures of both are seamlessly combined. Operational consolidations are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2008. The new company name will be Brewer Quilting and Sewing Supplies.
Shipping will be done from Reno, Nevada, and Aurora, Illinois, and both warehouses will be fully stocked with books, patterns, and notions. The company’s Web site will be updated to include real-time inventory availability, and print catalogs will include bar codes for easier, more accurate ordering.
“Brewer Quilting and Sewing Supplies will continue to work to earn confidence,” said Martin Favre, president of Bernina of America. “We want to be the distributor of choice in the independent quilting and sewing markets, and will work to keep that honor.”
